The work
The Town of Lumsden and RM of Lumsden No. 189 are seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Corporate Services Coordinator to join our collaborative municipal team.
This newly created position provides day-to-day leadership of the front office, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient administrative operations, and consistent procedures. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, the Coordinator will supervise front office staff, coordinate administrative functions, support organizational initiatives, and foster a positive, team-oriented workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the daily work of front office staff.
- Promote exceptional customer service for residents, businesses, and visitors.
- Develop and maintain office procedures and administrative best practices.
- Coordinate municipal communications, including website, social media, public notices, and customer information.
- Support records management, policies, bylaws, and administrative compliance.
- Assist with Council and organizational projects and process improvements.
- Coordinate IT assets and provide basic troubleshooting support.
- Work collaboratively with municipal departments, weed control, and bylaw enforcement.
- Participate on the OH&S Committee.
- Serve as District Emergency Coordinator for the Lumsden & District Emergency Management Organization.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Business or Local Government Administration, or equivalent experience; several years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including leadership or supervision; strong communication, organizational, computer, and customer service skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy. Municipal experience is an asset.
Compensation & Benefits:
$33.64–$44.62/hour based on experience; 35 hours/week, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Benefits include pension, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and earned days off.
